Rockport trip

The babies got to visit Rockport at 3 months old.   The trip was great!  Fishing was not so good due to high winds.

3 months

Ella Clare weighs 13 pounds 11 ounces and 21 3/4 inches.
Jake weighs 11 pounds and 21 3/4 inches. Jake is now on regular formula!

Ashleigh Wilson shared this precious poem with me!

"A meeting was convened one day
In Heaven's sacred hall.
The ideal parents must be found
For twins so sweet and small
...They must be patient, first of all,
And calm and kind and wise,
And capable of chasing tears
Away from little eyes.

Would also put their children first
And have a lot of smarts,
With dedication and resolve,
Two sweet and loving hearts.

It was agreed you were the best --
No other ones would do.
Yes, Heaven found the perfect ones
And sent those twins to you!

We slept eight hours!

YAY !  I woke up at 2, 3, and 4AM to check on SNOOZING babies!  It was amazing!  Then, I heard Miss Ella at 5 AM!  I got the bottles ready, changed her, fed the hungry munchkin...then I had to WAKE UP brother!  They went back to sleep until 8!  WOOHOO! Maybe we are BIG babies now!

Almost 3 MONTHS OLD

I can't believe how quickly 3 months have flown by!  I told myself that once the babies (and I) are sleeping better, then I could handle anything during the day.  I am ALMOST there!  I am getting 7-8 hours of sleep each night, not continuous sleep, but a decent amount.  Normally, I sleep from 9:30-3:00a, then 4:00-6:30a.   YES, thats right...just up one time.  On a good night, I can have both babies in dry diapers, fed, burped and back down in 30 minutes.  (On these nights, I normally have a hard time getting back to sleep...which is SUPER annoying!)   I am using the Podee handsfree bottles which makes my life a ZILLION times easier!

Each morning between 7-7:30, there is LOTS to do like dress Hannah, fix hair, brush teeth, breakfast, pack lunch, feed bottles...etc.  These bottles make it possible to feed  two hungry babies and breakfast to a five year old, all while sipping my coffee.  I think that is pretty efficient!  THANKS PODEE bottles!

Other things I have learned with twins...
1. We can go for a walk rain or shine...desperate times call for desperate measures!  (We walk everyday at 10a and 5p!)
2. Sitting down for a meal is a luxury.
3. A quick trip into Walgreens turns into a 30 minute trip, once everyone is loaded in the buggy!
4. Some restaurants prefer that we reserve the 'backroom.'  Thank you Luigis!  ;)
5. True friends and family still invite us to events and want to hang out with us no matter how many babies we have.
6.  We go through 14 bottles, 70 oz. of formula, 24 diapers and 3 outfits a day!
7.  I will pay good money for good help when needed!
8. We can love two babies at the same time
9. Time alone is never time alone
10. Twins get a lot of attention no matter where you are...yes, they are fraternal.

Questions and statements that have become redundant...

"How are you managing life with twins ?"  "You must be SOOO busy, I am glad you are young." "Do you ever sleep?"  "How is Hannah doing with the babies?"  "Did you have those fertility drugs?"  "Are they identical?"  "Who do they look like?"

Life is good, yes, I am busy all the time but I like it, I sleep well,  Hannah loves the babies, I took fertility drugs for three years, they are fraternal not identical (boy/girl), they look like Ella Clare and Jake....  now, lets talk about their poop schedule   :)

Hannah and her babies

Hannah and her black eye
She fell on a stick ...somehow. She is so reckless.  Her daddy calls her a Hooligan!

One of sister's first smiles...she is SO selfish with them!
